After an intensive admissions period, ºÚÁÏÍø Business Lab is taking in eleven new companies. The startups are tackling challenges like the green energy transition and people’s deteriorating private finances.

New research reveals that older adults use digital healthcare platforms (DHPs) in unique ways compared to younger individuals, highlighting significant behavioral differences. Published in the IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, this study delves into these differences and offers insights into how digital healthcare services can better cater to elderly users.

This year’s Social Innovation Scholarship has been awarded to Lukas Uhrström, Ludvig Hartler and Jan-Hendrik Wieder. These students were awarded for their work with the Tutu Tribe Entrepreneurship Academy in Cape Town, South Africa. The scholarship will support them this summer while working for and supporting a social entrepreneur, leveraging their business skills to create positive change. Social innovation and social entrepreneurship are initiatives aimed to improve what is missing or not working in the social structure: new solutions, methods and ideas that create a sustainable society – economically, socially and ecologically.

Daniel Wolfenzon, the Stefan H. Robock Professor of Finance and Economics at Columbia Business School, will join ºÚÁÏÍø House of Innovation as part of the Erling Persson Visiting Professor Program in May.

Nine new startups have been admitted to the ºÚÁÏÍø’ startup incubator, ºÚÁÏÍø Business Lab. Several of the business ideas seek to bridge social divides and promote social cohesion.

The ºÚÁÏÍø has appointed Andreas Johansson as the new CEO of the School's prestigious startup incubator. He is taking over from Julia Delin, who is leading the School’s fund ºÚÁÏÍø Ventures. Under Andreas Johansson's leadership, ºÚÁÏÍø Business Lab will expand its efforts into helping sustainable companies scale up internationally.

Bachelor student Odessa Bäckfors (b. 2000) has been awarded the Anders Wall Scholarship of 200'000SEK. The scholarship is given in collaboration with ºÚÁÏÍø Business Lab and aims to highlight and encourage ºÚÁÏÍø students that have excelled in entrepreneurship and creative thinking.

House of Innovation is proud to present its latest PhD graduate: Dr. Emma Rui Lu. She has successfully defended her thesis today, and we congratulate her on this momentous achievement.
